I often wonder where would I be if I had not listened to God’s voice. Where would I be if I had not stepped onto the path to walk a Spiritually Reliable life?

I remember a time when I had one of those breakdown moments in the shower. I felt as if I was losing my mind, losing parts and pieces of myself. I cried out so loud to God, “I know I am amazing, talented and fabulous. I know I am not here to sling pasta in an Italian restaurant for the rest of my life. I am ripe and ready for the picking—God use me as your Divine instrument, in the peace and healing of others. God, I cannot go on anymore like this. I beg you, PLEASE send someone to produce me!”

It was a desperate attempt to get God’s attention, which, in my case is never anything short of melodramatic. I had gone complacent and was walking around in my life going through the motions, having temporary, fleeting in-sights—dreaming and seeing who I could become. Standing naked in the shower, water dripping down my body seemed metaphorical as I was having an emotional crisis, screaming, crying and complaining of how things were not working in my life. Then I heard the Voice—the voice neither male nor female, a voice so clear, direct, and precise like a laser, surround me from all directions and yell into me—Produce Yourself!

Yes, I thought, “Yes,” I screamed out loud back at the Voice. “Is that what you want? You want me to show up, move my feet and produce myself? Then show me the way, show me how, open doors and I will walk through them all.” I yelled. From this Holy Instant, this Holy break-through the doors did open, and quite rapidly I must add, and my life was never the same again.

Many people seek counsel from me in my private coaching practice. A large number of people want to find their purpose in life. Usually, the first question out of my mouth is:

If God were an employer, would you be hired?

Richard Seaman

Just like an employer who has hired you to do a job, God will send you out into the world to serve, but only if you are spiritually reliable and 100% committed to the job. God prefers to send out those who are consistent and live their lives with follow-through, integrity and will show up with a positive and activated attitude. If you are floundering to answer this question there may be some up-leveling that needs to be dealt with in your life. You’re probably wondering what does being spiritually reliable mean anyway? Spiritual Reliability means being loyal and obedient to the truth of spirit as it arrives in each moment.

Most people in this world wish to live a life that is purposeful, while also having the greatest intentions of helping the world and making it a better place. I once heard someone say that many spiritual people have taken on a belief that you are going to be broke if you are spiritual. This belief needs to be shattered. The reality is that we live in a western world, which means that we have bills, rent, food and finances to meet in order to survive. We’re not mystics in a monastery; we are mystics in the world. So as a result we must learn to monetize our skills, gifts and talents. You will be compensated financially to the same degree that you add value into the world.

If you believe you do not have a life purpose, you are cheating yourself. That belief in and of itself is denying your purpose from manifesting. You need to reframe these thoughts. I have five questions for you to ponder that could increase your potential of doing so.

  1. What is your gift to the world?
  2. What is your message to share with the world?
  3. What can you teach?
  4. How can you inspire and shine a light into the world?
  5. How can you bring a piece of truth to someone’s life?

Usually, what I have found is that wherever you have had to do the biggest piece of work in your life is where you will be the most powerful. I sometimes say, “Your mess becomes your ministry; your messes become your message.”

My teachings convey how to be spiritually reliable. Like all people, I struggle with being spiritually reliable at times, but I always go back to a teaching that has enlightened me.

We teach what we need to learn the most.

Sometimes it is not easy to show up to be an instrument for Spirit. Other times it can be very easy to show up because there is a groove we slide into. It somehow lifts us up, over and through the struggle, ultimately connecting to God to become spirits’ tool. This space of possibility is a mystery to me every day. Why can we sometimes find the “groove” and why do we lose it at other times?

There are many other teachers, past and present, who have taken on this compassion towards humanity to aid in the greater good of the world. Teachers like: Mother Theresa, Gandhi, Don Miguel Ruiz, Wayne Dyer, Marianne Williamson, Buddha, Deepak Chopra, Caroline Myss, Oprah Winfrey, Neale Donald Walsch, Joel Osteen and many more. The theme within these great teachers is that they are spiritually reliable. They are willing to be utilized for a greater higher purpose. They asked the question, “How may I best serve?” They listened, and then acted with their life to contribute to a greater, more profound, healing purpose in the world.

Thank you God for Yelling into me, Produce Yourself, as Seattle Life Coach Training and my many books are now the physical manifestations to the many Yeses I spoke back to you when you gave me my divine orders. I said Yes to being an awarding winning, global, worldwide speaker, writer and teacher many years ago and this has manifested as my reality.

Richard Seaman

I thank you for trusting me with this magical calling and life purpose, and for this truth, I thank you God for the grace you have bestowed upon me. I am honored to do your work on earth, as it is done in heaven, to the best of my human abilities.

We know when you are choosing a coaching program that the search for the right one can get very overwhelming. Since 2009 we have spoken to 1000’s of people just like you and one of the questions we get all the time is “What is the difference between Seattle Life Coach Training and the other coaching programs out there?”

In this article you’ll learn from Master Life Coach and Founder of SLCT, Richard Seaman, exactly what makes SLCT different and stand out from other life coach training programs.

SLCT’s 120-Hour life coach certification program is a very extensive, comprehensive training program that will take 6-months to complete and is made up of three well-rounded components – Professional development, Personal development, and Spiritual development simultaneously.

We know by wrapping up these three areas as one package creates a transformational approach for the students. Each student will grow in all three areas and walk away at the end as a certified life coach having the ability to coach people from all walks of life. Not every person who seeks coaching is made up of just one area. We tell our students all the time: Why box yourself into one niche when you could open yourself up to coaching many different people?

Our goal for our students is for them to walk away and be successful coaches who get paid to transform lives. Getting paid to coach others is always the end goal and making a full-time living is what we strive to teach our students. Many people who want to become a life coach are usually leaping from a career that is not making them happy and feeling fulfilled anymore. Some are in limbo from one thing to another, like being a full-time parent and now finding themselves an empty nester. Some just feel called to coaching because it lights them up when they are helping others grow and evolve. But they usually have one thing in common which is they are seeking to find a thriving career with purpose and want to make a difference in the world.

People who want to become a life coach are being called to coach others because they have a deep knowing within them that they can make a difference in the world. I know for myself I was always a helper and what charged me up in life is when I would listen to people’s problems and could then help them. However, what I eventually learned was that I was giving them more advice than helping them find their own answers.

A common parable, if you fish for a man he will eat for a day, but if you teach a man how to fish, he will eat for a lifetime. A good coach will teach their clients how to metaphorically fish for themselves and eat for a lifetime.

Coaching is about meeting their clients where they are today and then supporting them in moving forward to where they want to be in life.

A great life coach uses skills and tools coupled with powerful potent forward-moving questions that will allow their clients to go within themselves to find their own answers.

A great life coach will move their clients forward into clarity that will produce forward movement action.

The biggest skill of a great life coach is, “You got to ask the right questions!” For example, if you ask, “Why can’t you lose weight?” That question will usually produce a thousand reasons, stories, and excuses. That is an example of a wrong question. Now ask this question. “What has to change for you to lose weight?”

We teach our students at Seattle Life Coach Training (SLCT) to steer away from the “Why” and instead ask: How? Now what? What are your next steps? What are your resources? What needs to change? What are the possibilities? Always remove the “Whys” in any coaching session. Additionally, to avoid advising or counseling change your focus to:

Outcomes vs. Problems

How vs. Why

Feedback vs. Failure

Possibilities vs. Fears

Curiosity/Fascination vs. Assumptions

At Seattle Life Coach Training we pride ourselves in being a premier coach training program since 2009. One of the big differences from other training programs is we designed a transformational approach to life coach training. What this means is that we believe for a trained life coach to ask their clients to transform their lives that the coach must be willing to do their own inner work. How can you ask others to dig deep within themselves and not be willing to do the same thing?

Below are the three transformational components we incorporate at Seattle Life Coach Training (SLCT):

Professional Development:

Every 4-hours is considered one training module. In each module, we present a new coaching tool, and we do this through a lecture/presentation, a live real-time coaching demonstration and a thorough Q & A forum after each coaching demonstration is complete.

SLCT’s certification program is set up that all the coaching tools we teach will be demonstrated live in a virtual setting. The student will be watching an actual real-time coaching session by one of our professionally trained and certified master life coaches. After each coaching session has been completed the SLCT facilitator will open the class up to a Q & A forum. In this forum, the students will have the opportunity to address any questions, thoughts, confusions, concerns, or feedback that they have about the coaching session they observed.

Once the students have had their questions answered our students are then grouped into pairs of two and moved into a private Zoom room where each student will have the opportunity to coach the tool with another student while receiving professional observation by a trained SLCT master life coach.

Personal Development:

This is where the magic begins in the personal development arena of SLCT’s coaching program. Going back to the transformational approach to SLCT life coach training we teach you to transform yourself and then help others do the same thing. We want our coaches to “try on” every tool we teach for them to experience it first-hand. This method gives our students a first-hand experience of each tool because they literally get to sit in the coaching seat and the client seat.

This is where the transformational approach shows up. As our coaching students experience these sessions both as a coach and client, they begin to transform their lives each time they learn a new tool. We believe this is a win-win because our students get to evolve and grow in many areas of their lives and at the end of the program walk away with a life coach certification from Seattle Life Coaching Training fully ready and prepared to coach others in the world.

Spiritual Development:

SLCT believes that every person is connected to a higher power. We teach our students how to connect to their own higher power. We know that not every person refers to this power in the same way, therefore, we ask each person to connect to their own God of understanding. The program interweaves many spiritual components like universal laws of attraction, manifestation philosophies, guided imagery and visualization techniques.

Everyone has intuition, which is the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning. As I teach the students – Deep within you, there is a knowing. It’s those moments where you just know something. We teach our students how to access their intuition and more importantly to learn to trust it when it arrives. A coach that uses their intuition can be much more effective when they learn how to co-create their coaching session with their intuition.

Richard Seaman, refers to it as a crystal-clear channel of clarity. You just know that you know that you know. How this can show up in a coaching session is that you have these moments where your inner knowing speaks. Usually, you internally hear something and are guided to ask something – you get a quick download of information (you just know). Many people who are new to developing their intuition will doubt it and then discard it in fear they might be wrong. They haven’t gained the skill of trusting their own inner knowing yet. SLCT’s coach training program incorporates these powerful techniques throughout the entire program.

If you are being called to coach others in the world you have knocked on the right door. Please click the link to schedule your one-on-one discovery call with an SLCT admissions advisor. Or fill out the form below and someone will contact you asap. We are excited to support you on this journey!

During periods of great challenge and uncertainty, loving and kind souls without fail will appear where they’re needed. These last few years have been difficult for many, and it comes as no surprise that once again, beautiful and caring people have stepped in to bring comfort and hope to those around them. Among these incredible souls are life coaches, whose mission is to guide others through the fog of uncertainty.

Chances are that at some point in your journey, you’ve met a life coach; whether you’ve sought out their service or simply had the pleasure of meeting them in passing. Those who are called to the life coach profession have a deep commitment to the service of others, and exist as guiding lights in the world. Suffice to say, they’re hard to miss!
But what, exactly, is a life coach? What do they do? What does it take to become a life coach? In this article you’ll learn from Master Life Coach and Founder of SLCT, Richard Seaman, about the role of a life coach and how you can embrace a thriving career with purpose.

Aren’t life coaches just another type of counselor?

One of the most common misconceptions about life coaching is that it’s another form of counseling. While it’s true that life coaches serve as a rock and guiding light for their clients, there are distinct differences between counseling and coaching.

Counselors are primarily focused on explaining why something happened in your life. Why can’t you lose the weight? Why didn’t you get the job? Why are you in a relationship that makes you unhappy? These are all valid questions, but they focus too much on the past.

The past is written. While it most certainly plays a critical role in your life story, it is unchangeable. Permanent. Life coaches, on the other hand, live in the present. We look toward the future and the story that has yet to unfold. We are always reaching forward so that we can help our clients grow and achieve their goals.

Simply put, life coaches don’t ask why. We ask how. How are you going to lose the weight? How are you going to get your next job? How are you going to find a relationship that supports you?

We not only ask how our clients will achieve their goals, we walk them through the strategies for succeeding. Life coaches hold their clients accountable to their goals and seek opportunities, not excuses. We’re always looking for what comes next, and how we will get there.

Life coaches build bridges to the future

Another key distinction of the life coaching profession is that we understand that our clients don’t need to be told what to do. In fact, they already have the answers within. As life coaches our job is to draw those answers out and bring our clients to the “Ah ha!” moments that allow them to move forward and transform their lives.

In fact, transformation lives and breathes within “ah ha” revelations. The clarity a client experiences through working with a life coach helps reveal the way forward, and the gaps that might lie in the way. Throughout our teachings at Seattle Life Coach Training, we examine what is referred to as the gap. Whether you realize it or not, we’ve all experienced gaps at one point or another.

A gap is simply this: you’re not where you were. You’re not where you want to be. You’re here. And “here” can be a challenging and confusing place if you don’t have a bridge to the next phase of your journey. A life coach helps you build the bridge to where you want to go.

The true value of a life coach lies in their unique ability to craft strategies that are personalized to each client and their goals. Consider how Tom Brady’s coaches teach to his specific needs. You can imagine that his goals are much different than a quarterback on a little league team. Life coaches work through similar unique circumstances with their clients.

Every client’s journey is personal, and life coaches utilize a wide array of tools and strategies to craft plans that work for each client’s unique path. There’s never a one size fits all approach to life coaching. Through the use of carefully hone skills and tools, a life coach can examine the gaps in their client’s life and build the bridge to the other side.

Our online program is broken down into 3 levels:

  • Advanced Strategies for Coaching

During each 4 hour class our students learn how to use a new coaching tool that they will use in their day to day practice. Our educators take a hands-on approach to ensure students understand each strategy and tool. Students learn from live demonstrations, and then practice each tool with their peers to develop the skills they need to expertly assist their future clients.

Watch Master Life Coach Richard Seaman coach a real client.

Upon completing Level 1 of our course, students will have the tools they need to begin practicing on their own. We encourage our students to use their newfound knowledge to practice core competencies, and to begin to build their book of business.

As students navigate through the final 2 levels of our program, we teach them the practical business skills they need to grow their client base. We take the time to ensure our students are successful, because we know the world desperately needs their gifts, and it’s our job to help our students share their light with others.

In a matter of days 2021 has already put forth new challenges for us to navigate. For months we have endured tests of our faith, love and compassion for one another and the world at large. Still, with grace, we push forward to find greater connection to the world, the universe and God. For all that you have endured, you must recognize the incredible adversity you have faced and continue to overcome. You are here, and that alone is no small feat.

But where is “here?” Are you certain of your place in the context of a much larger universe? Or are you, like many, caught in a fog of uncertainty? You might find yourself in the gap: You’re not where you were. Perhaps you’re not where you want to be. You are in between, inside the gap of possibility.

As you embrace a new year of boundless opportunity, consider the path ahead and how you might harness the light and gifts within you to break through the fog and embrace your future. Consider that a transformation within may be the key to unlocking where you want to be, and how you can bring others along with you.

There has never been a greater need for the life coaching profession

As the world faces another year in the midst of a pandemic, we are forced to acknowledge that this is a time of great transition. Socially, politically, economically and spiritually, we cannot escape the fact that all of us are transitioning into a new world that is ours to redefine. As difficult as transition can be, it’s also a time of great possibility and hope for a better way forward.

If you’ve felt a pull in your soul  to move in a new direction, it’s time for you to undergo your own transformation. The life coaching profession can equip you with the tools to embrace personal, professional and spiritual change, so that you can lead others down a path of new possibilities.

With so many people in the world looking for help in navigating the future, there simply has never been a greater need for life coaches. They need someone to reach out and guide them forward. They need a light in the world. They need a life coach.

If you feel called to elevate those around you, you are already on the path to being a life coach. You have spiritual gifts that are primed to enact meaningful change in the world and the universe at large. Imagine being able to undergo a transformation so inspiring and significant, that others lean on you to guide them through their own journey. It’s hard to imagine a more powerful or purposeful profession.

A certified life coaching program gives you the tools to build a career with purpose

The life coaching profession is not only spiritually fulfilling, but also a lucrative career opportunity that gives you the power to use your innate gifts to make a difference in the world. For many people who have lost a job during the pandemic, or who are re-evaluating their career choice, life coaching is a powerful opportunity to enact meaningful change in yourself and others, while providing a comfortable and flexible lifestyle.

People need help now more than ever. Many face isolation as they work and raise families from home, many with little connection to friends, family and communities. Life coaches around the world have stepped in to offer love and guidance to those feeling the weight of a challenging universe.

If you’ve been searching for a career that gives you a chance to do powerful and significant work from anywhere in the world, life coaching is worth a deeper look.

Earn your life coach certification online in a safe and loving environment

The life coaching profession, like many others, has undergone significant change in the last year. Prior to the pandemic many life coaching classes were held in person, but has evolved to thrive within the digital world as students seek a safe way to learn.

SLCT made a pivot to online learning in 2020, and we’ve been absolutely astounded by the incredible progress our students have made in the digital environment. The power, energy and love our students put forth is truly tangible. We’ve grown alongside our students and are blessed to watch them develop their careers and capabilities.

The Seattle Life Coach Training online certification program follows the same hands-on curriculum as our in-person course. We help our students discover their niche, kick start their business and navigate the life coaching profession so that they can develop spiritually and financially fulfilling businesses.

Discover the SLCT life coach certification program

SLCT’s 120 hour life coach certification program meets the core competencies outlined by the ICF and IAC. Our students and graduates have come from all walks of life and are using their life coach certification to help others overcome the challenges they themselves once faced.

It’s common for our students to come to SLCT in the midst of their own “mess.” As they seek to untangle the mess within their lives, they find that their mess actually becomes their message. That message becomes their calling to help others who are grappling with the same adversity.

The journey of self discovery and transformation is truly breathtaking to observe. We’ve watched our students grow from individuals without a clear vision for the future, into bright and beautiful souls who are leading others with grace and purpose. At Seattle Life Coach Training, we teach our students that the Universe is a doing machine and only knows to do what you tell it to do. SLCT’s life coach training program is a transformational approach to becoming a certified life coach.

A transformational approach is that we ask our students to do their inner personal work first before asking their clients to do theirs. In fact, Richard Seaman who is the founder and director of Seattle Life Coach Training says, “How dare you ask someone to do their work if you are not willing to do yours”. In this case, our students are given the assignment to create their own vision boards and then present them to the teachers and their student peers.

One of the ways our trained life coaches help their clients is to invite them to create a vision board. The process of creating a vision board begins to activate the Universal doing machine because it bathes and stimulates the unconscious mind. A person’s brain is stimulated in two ways: Mental and emotional. By asking a person to create a vision board it starts the process of helping the client to get really clear on what they want their life to look like and become. One of the most powerful attributes of mental images, such a vision board is that the mind does not know the difference between an imaged event or a real event. Therefore, the mind tags the mental image as real and then elicits an emotional positive response. The side effect of this is what is on the vision board becomes real in their lives.

The client is asked to bring in their vision board to the next session and share it with their life coach. The coach will then begin to really dive deep into the client’s vision and then help the client create a plan of action that will support them to manifest the images and phrases into their lives. Can you now see why vision boards are SO powerful!?

Let’s take a deeper dive into how we teach our coaches at SLCT to coach their clients to manifest the life they really want to have. It is a powerful and time-tested process that can really transform lives!

What is a Vision Board?

A vision board is a simple, yet powerful, a visualization tool that helps open the door to the universal “Law of Attraction” and aids in manifesting your dreams into reality.

The concept of the vision board (also known as a goal board, goal map, or treasure map) has been around for generations but gained in popularity after success expert John Assaraf related his story, in the documentary “The Secret,” of using vision boards to achieve his dreams.

NOTE: If you have not watched the documentary “The Secret,” we highly recommend doing so. If you have watched “The Secret” you may want to consider re-watching it; most notably the segment on vision boards. It will help you speak with authority to your clients about the value and effectiveness of this powerful tool.

Vision Boards Explained

A vision board is simply a visual representation, or collage, of the things that you most desire. It consists of a poster, or foam board, with cut-out pictures, drawings, and/or writing on it of the things that you want in your life or the things that you want to become.

Where did the Vision Boards originate?

American author Napoleon Hill (1883-1970) is one of the greatest writers on success. His most famous work, Think and Grow Rich, is one of the best-selling books of all time. Hill’s works examined the power of personal beliefs, and the role they play in personal success. “What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve” is one of Hill’s hallmark expressions. Although Napoleon Hill didn’t use the term “Law of Attraction,” he described the same process in detail in his book, Think and Grow Rich.

Is there science behind the “Law of Attraction” theory?

The “Law of Attraction” states that we attract into our lives anything that we give attention to—whether it be positive or negative. From a psychological view, the “Law of Attraction” is best explained by the information filtering system of the brain known as the reticular activating system (RAS).

Vision boards serve the role of programming the RAS to tune into external stimuli that can help us move closer towards our intentions.

At the base of the human brain stem, in between the medulla oblongata and the mesencephalon, there is a small finger-sized control center called the reticular activating system (RAS) that sorts and evaluates incoming data.

Your RAS is responsible for filtering all the incoming information that your brain receives, and it also acts as a receiver for information that is important.

A simple way to conceptualize the RAS is to think of it as a radio. You are surrounded by radio waves from various stations, but your portable radio can only tune-in to one at a time. So, it is manifesting. You must tune-in to what you most want or desire.

Is it important to use a person’s name when activating the “Law of Attraction?”

Yes, using a person’s name has power! It activates the RAS part of the brain. Imagine you are in a meeting room talking to several people and in the distant corner of the room you hear someone call your name. All of your focus gets diverted in the direction of the voice because that bit of information is tagged by the RAS as important to you.

The more you use your name or use your client’s name when talking to them or coaching them, the more alert and focused the brain becomes.

For example, your RAS is responsible for allowing you to sleep through the traffic noise outside but wakes you at the smallest cry from your infant child. Another example of the RAS at work is when you buy a new car and then realize that scores of people in your city have the same car.

Who conducted the RAS brain research and what was discovered?

According to Hans Moravec, the principal research scientist at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University, the human brain can handle up to 100 trillion bits of information at any given time. The RAS can’t distinguish between a real event and a “created” reality. We can take advantage of this fact by programming our brain to seek out stimuli in our environment that resonate with our goals.

This is why visualization and hypnotherapy are powerful tools in creating new realities. It is also why life coaches, who have the additional skill or tool of hypnotherapy, can truly help their clients create new realities.

How can create a vision board activate the RAS?

The process of creating a vision board is one of the best ways to program the RAS because it programs the RAS to pay attention to certain things in your environment that are in frequency with your goal or vision, in much the same way as you are able to pick up your name being mentioned in a conversation on the other side of a room while talking to others.

As you can see the training we provide at Seattle Life Coach Training fully supports our coaches in manifesting the lives they see for themselves and in turn the lives they touch in their coaching sessions.

Conclusion

Vision boards are one of the many tools and techniques you’ll use on your path to becoming a life coach. There’s so much more to learn about vision boards and we’re here to help.

Have you asked for help today? God, The Universe or Spirit (GUS) is listening and rip-roaring and raring to go! In fact, all of your spiritual supporters can’t wait to help you with whatever you want or need. You are never alone and you are supported and loved more than you can possibly imagine! GUS just wants you to ask through prayer, meditation, or just a good old conversation. The difference between prayer and meditation is prayer is to ask and meditation is to listen.

Prayer means different things to different people. But, what I’ve found is sometimes just taking the time to ask can help bring peace. I don’t expect everything I pray for to be answered, but taking the time to ask is often comforting in and of itself. Does that comfort come from a spiritual force from within or does it come from some otherworldly place we cannot see? Honestly, it doesn’t really matter if you’re able to find inner peace.

At Seattle Life Coach Training we teach our life coaching students how to connect with this spiritual force through guided imagery, visualization, meditation techniques, universal practices and Laws of Attraction principles . Many times when clients seek out the assistance of a life coach it is because they are feeling tired, alone, unwanted, concerned, threatened or confused about life. SLCT powerfully educates our life coaching students to invite their clients to learn how to ask for help from a divine source we call GUS.

As the founder of Seattle Life Coach Training and the author of the book, Spiritual Reliability I know the word God can be triggering for all types of reasons to many people. Therefore we ask our students, “What is your God of understanding?” Each student has their own unique reference point to this question. At SLCT we honor each and every student’s perception of the world and how they answer this question. Even if they say I don’t know or I do not have any reference point to this question it does not matter as long as they come from a loving and all-inclusive space. One of the things I teach in my classes and books is that there are two types of help – Human help and Divine help. The mere act of asking for help begins a process which then deploys a personal support system that is all apart of GUS and how IT wants to provide for you. GUS (God, Universe and Spirit) wants and desires to help you so much it is beyond words.

Another thing we teach at SLCT is that we cannot do this life journey alone, no one can do it alone. And if we think we can then we are left walking through life in our own little meager way. Humans are not designed to be alone because every relationship we have is a classroom. When we enter into new relationships we learn, grow, and evolve and this definitely includes a coach and client relationship.

Now, the help you get may not be delivered exactly the way that your expectations may dictate. You have to be open to what the Universe knows is best for you. GUS knows exactly what is for your greater and higher good in any given situation. And, of course, your desires may well be in perfect alignment with your highest good. I am personally almost always surprised by the avenue through which the assistance comes no matter if it is human or divine assistants.

The point of all of this is that you are never alone. How could you be? You are one with ALL, which includes GUS. So, next time you are in need, just ask and you shall receive! And, So It Is!

SLCT is committed to the growth and success of our students, and we pride ourselves on providing a safe, loving and life-giving educational experience. Our Certified Life Coach Training Program is one of the most successful in the country because of the great care our educators take in ensuring students are equipped with the professional skills to make a difference in the world.

We believe that a quality, transformational education begins with understanding the road ahead, and what your educational journey will entail. As a student of Seattle Life Coach Training (SLCT) we will work directly with you to develop your God given gifts and show you how to harness them into a thriving career with purpose.

“Thrive” is a word you will hear our educators say many times. To thrive is not only a life mission, but a professional goal as well. Life coaching is a lucrative career with boundless opportunities to serve others and bring positive change to the world. SLCT empowers you with a world-class education so that you can earn your Life Coach Certification and build a coaching business that is fulfilling and profitable.

Why do I need to become certified to practice as a Life Coach?

The fact of the matter is that you don’t actually need to be certified to practice as a life coach. Anyone can claim to be a life coach and practice without oversight. Now take a step back and consider how that statement made you feel. Like us, you probably got a knot in your stomach!

ANYONE can claim that they are a life coach?

Yes. It’s a chilling thought! Would you want to bear your soul to someone who has perhaps only read a few articles online and calls themselves a life coach? You would probably get better results by confiding in your pet!

To succeed as a professional life coach you must prove to your clients that you provide a caring, knowledgeable and safe service. You are serving a higher purpose in the world and laboring to improve the lives of your clients. They have partnered with you because they trust that you can equip them with the skills to move forward in life with purpose and grace. The trust your clients have in you is the most important element to your success as a certified life coach.

By earning your certification with the International Association of Coaching (IAC) or International Coaching Federation (ICF), you are proving to your clients and your community that you have achieved an excellent level of education and are able to meet the needs of your clients. This critical distinction will allow you stand out from others in the coaching community, and opens opportunities for you to market yourself as a professional.

What are the differences between the International Association of Coaching (IAC) and the International Coaching Federation (ICF)?

The IAC and ICF are governing boards with specific requirements for gaining certification as a professional Life Coach. Richard Seaman, Founder and Director of SLCT, has written an informative article about the key differences between these organizations, and the necessary steps to join.

Both the IAC and the ICF have unique levels of certification. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) ranks certified life coaches based on the amount of classroom/training hours, plus the amount of paid coaching sessions performed.

The International Association of Coaching (IAC) differs in that their levels of endorsement are based upon testing and demonstrated coaching ability, as opposed to hours logged.

Choosing between these organizations will largely depend on your unique circumstances. Both the IAC and the ICF provide many benefits to their membership, and you will use your certification to qualify your credentials to your prospective clients. The transformational educators at Seattle Life Coach Training can help you choose the right pathway for your career goals.

How will Seattle Life Coach Training prepare me to become a Certified Life Coach?

When Founder & Director Richard Seaman first conceptualized Seattle Life Coach Training, he knew his calling was to utilize his gift as a mentor and teacher to help others learn how to shine their light upon the world. This deep, spiritual calling manifested in the form of a transformational space where students can develop their spiritual gifts and learn how to build a career with purpose. As a student of Seattle Life Coach Training you will learn the core competencies outlined by the IAC and ICF. Each course is structured to provide you with specific skills to earn your certification. You will be immersed in your learning by way of one-on-one and group coaching sessions so that you can hone your skills and develop the necessary talents for meeting the needs of clients.

SLCT is more than just a life coaching program. We take the time to counsel students individually on their business goals. We understand that starting a business can be overwhelming, and we are committed to walking with you every step of the way. Our educators are experienced entrepreneurs who will teach you how to use your life coach certification to attract clients and develop a profitable business.

What’s more, graduates of SLCT receive access to the greater network of SLCT coaches and colleagues so that you can continue to learn, share and grow throughout your career as a certified life coach.

Online education is an exciting, accessible opportunity to learn new skills, pursue a new career, and grow your knowledge base. SLCT has developed a professional, personal and spiritual -fulfilling, experiential online life coach certification program to fill the growing need for remote, online learning. Under the guidance and tutelage of master life coach Richard Seaman, SLCT’s online life coach program has empowered students to reach their dream of serving a higher purpose in the world for the last 10 years.

As more people transition to remote work and remote learning systems, we find that they are seeking guidance in succeeding in this new environment. Our online students are thriving and building a tribe that is uniquely their own! And so, we will share tips and strategies that our students have practiced on their journey to becoming certified life coaches.

Gather the right tools

Online classes are growing in popularity because of their convenience and accessibility. Distance learning allows families with children, people without access to transportation, and those who are juggling work commitments to have an opportunity to reach their education goals.

Getting started is easier than you might think, and you don’t need a super powered computer to learn! SLCT is accessible to anyone with an internet connection. Our course material is available via online streaming, by download, and in Zoom conferences, all of which are easy to use and lightweight.

Before you begin each online module, make sure that your internet connection is stable. Nothing interrupts inspiration faster than becoming flustered or stressed out by a dropped internet connection. To test your connection, go to Youtube and watch a 3 to 5-minute video. If you can make it through the entire video uninterrupted, your connection is ready for online learning.

You will also want to keep social media, apps and software turned off while learning, to eliminate distraction and to reduce the risk of your computer freezing up from a lack of memory or resources.

Keep a schedule

Succeeding as an online student requires dedication and a commitment to show up on time, ready to learn. To help manage and chart your time, consider creating a daily calendar. This can be a journal or a digital calendar. By keeping track of each hour of your day, you gain precise visibility on your tasks.

First, examine your habits and routine to identify when you will be most successful at learning. Are you a morning person? A night owl? Once you have identified the optimal time for you to apply yourself to your studies, shift other priorities out of that time block.

When building your daily calendar, block out the specific times when you will be engaged in your classwork. Be careful not to stuff your calendar full of other tasks immediately before or after class. Give yourself a 30-minute break between each item on your daily list, so that you have time to decompress, relax, and re-energize for your next task.

Create a space where you can learn

Every student learns and processes differently, and the environment that is most comfortable for you will be uniquely your own! Find and dedicate a space that is comfortable, quiet, and radiating positive energy. This space should bring you a sense of peace and happiness. Keep refreshments nearby so that you stay hydrated and nourished throughout the learning process.

Support your learning by applying your knowledge

When you are not actively engaged in an online class, seek other ways in your day to apply your new knowledge and skills. This will keep you engaged and excited about what you learned, and gives you an opportunity to practice and retain the information through “doing.” Share your enthusiasm and excitement with friends and family. They are your support and your rock, and they will want to share your joy with you!

You may also consider adopting a daily journal for all of your thoughts and inspiration. Keep the journal on you so that you can make quick notes of your experiences, musings and ideas. At the end of each day, review your thoughts closely and release them into the world, so that they may manifest. Staying mindful gives you an opportunity to use what you have learned, and reflect on the world around you.

Engage your Tribe

Each of our students are unique, beautiful souls with passions, dreams and learning styles that are truly their own. Some students like to go their own way, while others prefer group learning. No matter your learning style, it’s important to keep in touch with your tribe online. The bond you will form with your classmates and peers is lifelong, and an important part of your support network. Get to know your fellow students so that you may share in their joys and successes, as they will in yours!

When engaging in your studies, seek out and set up small group sessions or one-on-one calls with your classmates. Model the coaching techniques you’ve learned, quiz one another on key lesson points, and most importantly, form a bond. Your SLCT peers will be your network, your rock and your friends for life.

Stay healthy and rested

If you’re feeling sick, exhausted, or out of alignment with your spirit, be kind to yourself and take time to heal. You will do a better job of retaining information and engaging your studies when you feel rested, healthy and happy. Perform daily examinations of your body and soul by meditating on your physical and mental presence. Take steps to nourish and mend what ails you, without worrying about other tasks and commitments. Practicing self-care is important to your success as a student and as a steward of the world.

Ask questions, communicate often, and be curious

The educators at Seattle Life Coach Training (SLCT) are here to help. Every question is valid and important! Our mission is to help you achieve your best & highest self, and pursue a life and career that is driven by purpose. As you work through each lecture, make a note of the questions or thoughts you encounter. At the end of the learning session, reach out to your peer network and instructors for help with your questions. You never know who else may have been thinking the same thing!

The next step

Achieving success as an online student requires focus, dedication to self-improvement, and a willingness to embrace opportunities. We will walk with you every step of the way to help you grow spiritually and professionally into a life coach that makes a difference in the world. If you need additional advice or have questions about our online certified life coach program, fill out the form below or call us at 206-659-8118 to be connected with our admissions counselors.

The societal and economic impact of the recent pandemic has motivated many small business owners to seek creative ways to keep business moving forward. Richard and the rest of the staff at Seattle Life Coach Training are devoted to helping students both past and present, forge a way forward with a renewed sense of hope and purpose. Even in the face of these challenging circumstances, we are practicing what we preach, and are choosing to embrace a higher intent.

As individuals serving the greater good of the world, life coaches choose to pour energy into the positive. We believe that when a challenge arises, we have to seek out the opportunities that the challenge presents. And so, we want to share with you a message of hope and inspiration, so that you might embrace the opportunity for a renewed sense of purpose as a life coach.

Expand your professional and spiritual gifts through life coaching.

Our students come from all walks of life and all manner of professions. Through our certified life coach training program we have enlightened and educated mothers and fathers, counselors, massage therapists,  yoga instructors, and everyday people from all walks of life. “Wow, everyone can do this.” Everyone has the power and the opportunity to embrace a higher calling, and to evolve into a higher version of themselves.

As you seek new opportunities both professionally and spiritually, we implore you to search within yourself and realize your true potential. You have a gift that is waiting to be shared with the world! In fact, you are already blessing those around you through the labor you are currently engaged in! Life coaching will create a fulfilling sense of purpose in your life that you will use to inspire and enrich others. As a certified life coach, you will engage in spiritually significant work while providing a needed service to your existing clients.

Leverage the clientele whose trust you have already earned.

As a small business owner, you know that securing your client’s trust is the most important factor in retaining business and earning referrals. The quality of work you provide is what sets you apart! Your clients already love and trust you, which naturally lends you the opportunity to expand your service offering to include life coaching. The fact is, you are already a mentor to your clients! Adding a life coach certification to your toolbox will equip you to better serve the people who already rely on you for your wisdom and empathy.

The gift is already inside you.

You are an entrepreneurial spirit, a go-getter, and a trusted resource in your community. The strength that you possess to build a business and chart your own path, is the same strength of spirit that will make you an inspiring life coach. As a positive light in the world, you already embody the love, devotion and desire to serve a higher purpose. Life coaching is a natural fit for you, and earning your certification will open the door to greater opportunities, both professionally and spiritually.

Life coaching offers flexibility to you and your clients.

Whether you have an existing client base or are seeking pathways to new business opportunities, life coaching will equip you with the ability to serve others across the globe. Now more than ever, people are seeking a connection with others. There is a great need for spiritual workers who can inspire and touch the hearts of others, to keep hope moving forward. As a life coach, you have the flexibility to help others anywhere, anytime.

Many of our graduates have built virtual life coaching practices, which have enabled them to reach people who otherwise cannot receive help. A virtual or online life coach practice is an affordable way to expand your services. An online practice reduces overhead costs, and gives you the freedom to work anywhere.

Here are a few ways our students have incorporated their life coach certification into their existing businesses:

  • Yoga instructors can bring life coaching to individuals or entire classes. Yogis harness the spiritual energy that comes naturally and use the gift of coaching to enrich their classes.
  • Massage therapists spend much of their lives healing others with their calming touch. Life coaching adds a deeper level of spiritual healing that can be easily incorporated into a massage session.
  • Certified counselors use their life coach certification to help their patients focus-forward, and embrace meaningful change in their lives. Life coaching urges you to seek a way forward, rather than focusing on the past, and many counselors have used their life coach training to inform their existing therapies.

How do I get started?

You may be wondering how an education with Seattle Life Coach Training differs from other life coach programs. Our program equips you with the core competencies set forth by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and the International Association of Coaching (IAC). Our staff are not only educators, but mentors as well! We will equip you with the skills and knowledge to grow your business into a thriving career with purpose. Our commitment to your success does not end when you graduate. The SLCT support network is available to help you succeed every step of the way.

The life coach educators at SLCT strive to make education accessible to all. We offer multiple pathways to becoming a certified life coach. Our flexible online courses can be accessed in two ways: self-paced learning, or our structured 120-Hour online program which begins on June 7th. Many students who have enrolled at SLCT do so to embrace the calling on their lives to become certified life coaches and to help people thrive in life. Many of them have experienced some sort of life change, which caused them to dig deep within themselves and examine their lives a little bit deeper than before. This self-inquire begins a progression to go within themselves and do their internal and external work, which is a process Richard refers to as “Knot Hole Moments”. They are being asked to Evolve opposed to Revolve.

A knot hole moment is when we’re being pushed through something so intense that we get squeezed. These knot holes are tight, dark, bend and turn and at times we don’t know how we’re going to get through and to the other side safely. But, when we learn how to trust in the process, have faith in what we cannot see, eventually you pop out the other side and into an open free space of freedom and flight. At this moment we realize we have transcended it, rose above the problems and now want to help others navigate their knot hole moments. Richard Seaman, the founder and director of Seattle Life Coach Training teaches his life coaching students how to turn their messes into their message in the world.

These types of experiences shape who we are and create a path that moves us forward evolving us into a better version of ourselves.

Part of the beauty of a community environment like Seattle Life Coach Training, is the opportunity for our students to share their true selves and release their God-Given Gifts and Talents into the world.  After all, the experience of all human emotion is universal, and our students benefit from an environment where they can safely share and learn how to evolve into their greatest and highest selves.

One of the most common experience our students share while enrolled at SLCT is the community and like-minded souls that come together to work for the greater and higher good of the world. During the 6-month on-campus journey we teach our students that it is love that is real and nothing else matters. It is the love we give and receive that is real and lasting.  Our students learn one of the 12 Guiding Principles to life coaching is that all problems come from separation, therefore, the solution is connection. Time and time again we have heard our newly enrolled students share how they felt disconnected from the world around them and they now want to use this experience to grow and evolve versus withdraw deeper away from the world.

Love is an incredibly amazing emotion, as it exposes us to unimaginable lessons. Still, love is the greatest journey we can have, because it bonds us to others, to the world, and to greater experiences that we generally cannot have alone. Human beings were not designed to live in this world alone. In fact, Richard teaches his students that there are two types of help in the world – Human help and Divine help. We must commune with other people and commune with a higher power. But, in any case you cannot do this alone. No one can do it alone.

From the moment we’re born, we’re infused with love. It’s all we know. Our experiences as we age are what introduced us to fear, anxiety, hate and separation which than eroded away at our ability to love freely. Richard teaches that what we were born with is love, and what we have learned here is fear. SLCT life coaches are trained to help their clients remove the veil of fear and then return them back to the presence of love, return them back to who they were when they arrived.

Life can be tragic as much as it can be wonderful. We teach our coaches that it’s not about the stories you tell, it is about your response to your life experiences that matter most.  It’s how we deal with what happens to us and from that mental stance. We either choose to embrace love or coil backwards into fear.

Many of Richard’s students embrace a calling to become a life coach, because they have had many messes to clean up in their own life. Going through those experiences empowered them to serve others who are going through similar events. One of those experiences might be divorce or separation, which is usually a particularly troubling situation to navigate, because resentment, anger and feelings of unfairness tend to permeate the process. And if we add legal battles to the mix, and it’s easy to see why divorce is such a driving force against love.

The truth is, separation and divorce do not have to be enemies of love. Love can build a bridge to a better place when we choose to find common ground and help each other get to where the other needs to go. Love can build a bridge, between your heart and mind.

Richard recently ended a 4.5-year relationship. When he and his partner mutually agreed to move on, they made it a point to move on lovingly. It was important to them that they remain in their highest selves, so that they could support one another in their journey to the next chapter of their lives. A core principle of SLCT is the daily action of raising your intentions. Richard decided to do what he calls Conscious Uncoupling.  By grounding himself to stay in his higher self and always adding love where he could by decided to do the right thing even when his ego wanted to attack and make the other wrong. Richard knew that leading with love had to be at the center of his separation.

That’s not to say it was easy. Ending a relationship is terribly painful, and that pain is what causes many people to stew in anger and drive the process of separation into a negative vengeful space. But love can build a bridge to a better place. It has to. We have to strive daily to reach that better place, our higher selves, which is ultimately our spiritual purpose in life.

Even in the throes of hurt and anger, love must remain at the center of our intentions. Let love lead you to a better place, which will ultimately create a better version of yourself. Let love lead you, it is all there is, everything else is just an illusion.

And, So It Is!
