You were born with a spark within you that is only unique to you. It is your own life force, your own light which was given to you, infused into you at birth. Call it God, Universe or Spirit this divine energy pulsates through every nerve and cell running through your body. The life force within you cannot be duplicated, cloned or copied. Every soul living has patterns, rhythms and designs. This is what makes you uniquely you!
The biggest mistake we can make is trying to pretend to be someone we are not. We can admire others, look up to people whom we want to be like, and we can borrow attributes and qualities they possess. But, in the end, we must find out who we are, discover and unearth the gifts we can bring to the world and give birth to those gifts. This is the greatest contribution we can offer the world. If this divine expression is in you then there is a divine order to it all. There is a reason why you express yourself in the way you do. There is a reason for the energy you walk with and a reason you have the voice you do. There is a reason for every aspect of who you are. Embrace it all and utilize it to become the greatest and highest expression of yourself that you can possibly express.
We must learn Grace. Grace is defined as you are not too little and you are not too big. Grace knows when to flex when to bend and when to blend in. You can be a garden hose or you can be a fire hose. You can be a candle or you can be a blowtorch. A being of grace knows how to swing in moderation and when to flex their light and self-expression into the world.
Self-expression is different for each person. And, it is vitally important that you as a life coach and a person in the world learn the art of grace and self-expression. A Course in Miracles (ACIM) says, “Never dim your light to make others comfortable”. Jill Taylor the author of the book A Stroke of Insight says, “Please be responsible for the energy you bring into a space”. I realize both of these statements are polar opposites. Think of it this way – you can be compelling or repelling. A more lasered idea is that grace is defined as you’re not too little and you’re not too big. You live in the middle, in moderation and understand when to flex and when to dim. You are aware and conscious of your own unique life force. How it affects you, and all those you are surrounded by.
In order to be your greatest and highest self, you must give birth to the greatest and highest expression of yourself. Your unique spark is God-given and must be expressed with grace. As you develop your self-expression in the name of being your best self. I must share a thought with you, a piece of teaching I was taught many years ago by one of my mentors. She said, “The pendulum will always swing”. What Linda meant was that when we let go of a pendulum for the first time it will have a large amount of built up energy. As gravity would dictate the pendulum once released is going to swing high and may very likely knock out a few things and be “too much” in the beginning. This is normal and natural in nature. Think about a coiled back kinked and twisted hose as a metaphor. You are a hose that is designed to be stretched out freely allowing water to flow through it, but instead, you have kinks and twists in the hose. The flow of water will not flow with ease and grace. Once you unkink and untwist the hose the water will squirt out quite aggressively in the beginning. Many people in the world have spent their whole lives holding back their gifts, talents and skills as some were taught this at birth and holding back appears safer than really fully expressing themselves. We must unkink, unblock and untwist the areas of our lives that are blocking us from being fully self-expressed – both personally and professionally.
Clients are paying to see your light and be a witnessed to your graceful fully self-expressed you. As a life coach, teacher, speaker, writer and healer it is your duty to be a graceful being of full self-expression. You are a mirror of possibility to your clients. You are a demonstration of what is possible for them to become and to achieve in their own unique ways. Each of us should be in labor, seeking to give birth to our highest self. Bringing the greatest gift into the world. If we all performed like this the whole world would rise.
Being little, dimming and deluding down your life force is not doing you or the world any favors. As Marianne Williamson writes in her book, Return to Love:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our Light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves — Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are we not to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people do not feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the Glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone.
And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fears, our presence automatically liberates others.
I give you full permission to shine your light in the world as you were designed to be. No more hiding – let’s pull the covers back, shine a light into your soul and give birth to all of you!
The time is now. Let’s begin!
